SYSTEM OR PARTS AFFECTED
VMAC air compressor systems powered by the Honda iGX800 Engine.
OVERVIEW
Do not fill engine oil above the upper limit indicated on the oil level dipstick when the engine is cold.
Overfilling the engine with oil may result in degraded performance and potential engine damage.
Excess oil can be drawn through the crankcase breather system into the air inlet manifold, leading to oil ingestion by the engine.
POTENTIAL EFFECTS OF OVERFILLING
Reduced engine performance due to oil carryover.
Visible exhaust smoke from oil combustion.
Lower engine operating RPM (normal operating MAX RPM = 3600)
SERVICE RECOMMENDATION
Maintain the engine cold oil fill level within the specified range.
For optimal operation, it is recommended to fill the oil to approximately 10% below the upper limit to allow for thermal expansion during operation (Figure 1).
If cold oil fill level is above upper limit, drain oil as required to upper limit or below. Do not drain below lower limit.
Oil level may appear higher when engine is at operating temperature due to thermal expansion.
