OVERVIEW If an input shaft seal is leaking, and/or input shaft bearing wear/play is noted in an UNDERHOODTM 140 cfm or 150 cfm compressor, the following parts are available to remedy the problem: o Oil leaking past the input shaft seal only: part number 5820091 - Oil Seal. o Oil leak combined with bearing or shaft wear: part number A700231 – Front Gear Case Assembly. A700231 FRONT GEAR CASE ASSEMBLY The A700231 Front Gear Case Assembly (Figure 1) is ready to install. Included loose with the gear case assembly: • 8x 1540555 case screw • 2x 1500530 dowel pin • 1x 1500252 woodruff key • 1x 5830093 O-ring Figure 1 No warranty is expressed or implied when the A700231 is sold to fit to a used compressor due to the mating of a new gear to old gears. UNDERHOODTM 140 cfm and 150 cfm compressors built before June 2016 may be equipped with a different and obsolete design front gearcase cover & clutch. Changing the front gear case assembly in a compressor built to the old design may require clutch replacement as well. A kit is available.
