Before you start Confirm voltage to the display box.  9 volts is required for the display backlight to lite up.  A full 12 volts is required to get the lettering to display. Trouble shooting: The red and black Remote Start/Stop wires can be found tucked into the sheath just outside of the display box housing. (Figure 1) A momentary ground on the red wire will start the system and a momentary ground on the black wire will stop the system. If the Remote Start/Stop wires are able to start and stop the system then only the keypad needs to be replaced. Figure 1 Remote Start/Stop wires will be tucked into sheath
